In this video you’ll discover Slovenian wine region: GORIŠKA BRDA (Goriska Brda, Italian: Colio). It lays on the western side of Slovenia on the border with Italy. In first part of the video we’ll show you a small village of ŠMARTNO (Smartno, Italian: San Martino del Collio or San Martino di Quisca) surrounded by defense walls with watchtowers from 1317. The entire village has been declared a cultural heritage monument. We’ll also explain more about this beautiful wine region that is mostly known for its white wine “REBULA” (Italian: Ribolla) and red wine Merlot.
