According to Guilford, creativity means the ability to create when various skills are organized to connect various individual experiences, their novel interpretation and display in a new form.
First I almost missed the point in the design but then I spotted that tiny bit that makes simple unique and makes the packaging come to life.
The Portuguese wine company, Pinhal da Torre, always seeks to innovate in their products. It was the first wine company from Portugal to introduce the Braille language into their labels, aiding their visual impaired consumers to know which type of grape it was used and in what year the wine was bottled.
This time the designers did think big (nomen est omen) and could also find a solution, the unique and memorable experience to add to an excellent product.
Made of 4mm plywood and laser engraved, the bottle package becomes a mini wine holder with two coasters, showing that Pinhal da Torre is concerned not only with its wine quality but also with its peripheral, giving a new purpose to a sub-product it would be easily discarded.
Creativity is revealed in divergent thinking which makes it possible to approach a problem from several different perspectives and solve it by connecting elements usually seen unrelated and incongruous. All in all, I would say that the instructions on the box make every small bit fit.
