Royal Tokaji

Medium brown hue. Aromas of plum dumpling, cinnamon, fig and icing sugar, fig jam, orange zest, a pinch of eastern incense, sandalwood, marmalade and musk. Full-bodied, densely textured, but with such amazingly lively, vibrant acidity it’s as if you were tasting a fresh Aszú. Accordingly, the palate is almost purely citrus, at least for the first moment. Then oriental spice, a touch of saffron, prune, apricot jam and rosehip come to the fore. The tannins are wonderfully integrated, and the finish conjures up brittle, blood orange, pink peppercorn, plain chocolate, mandarin and a southern Indian market. The finish is infinite.
