Are you familiar with the folklore and mythical creatures of the world? The following work takes us into a universe where fantasy and realism result in symbiosis.
The objective was to create a new wine which would be able to compete in the market under the name "Seres" [Creatures] in honour of the book "El Libro de los Seres Imaginarios" by Borges.
Jorge Luis Borges’s work “Book of Imaginary Beings” (Manual de zoología fantástica) published in 1957, which he extended for ten years (El libro de los seres imaginarios), contains descriptions of 120 mythical beasts from folklore and literature.
In addition to paying tribute to the beings found on the labels, the designer also wishes to point out which wine he recommends for what kind of dish. Therefore, a fish design represents the Chardonnay as its ideal pairing, the Cabernet Sauvignon pork dishes and the Malbec beef. As well as the food and wine pairing, when creating the concept, the designer took into account a lot of small details. The uniqueness of the illustration definitely gives rise to a certain interaction with the consumer. Why is the label so puritanical? The answer is simple, it’s before our eyes, yet thought-provoking. It does not distract your attention from the colour of the wines. The bottles’ capsules evoke the RGB spectrum and provide us with a palate of imaginative colour mixing. An idle thought just crossed my mind that the colouring could also be used for the labels; you can also play a different game if you get your hands on all three bottles. Just put the bottles next to each other and turn the bottles to create your own imaginary beings. That is essentially the concept of the brand name.
