Ágnes Herczeg
Wine Expert, AIWS, CWE
I am a London Wine and Spirit Education Trust diploma graduate and certified instructor and also a qualified Fine and Rare Wine specialist, however I originally graduated in Economics and International Relations. My first book, entitled ‘Borok a konyhában’ (Wines in the kitchen), was published in Hungary in 2010, followed in 2013 by ‘Bull’s Blood meets five spices’, published in China in Chinese and English, and then in 2014 also in Hungary, co-author of ‘Borról Neked’ (Wines for You). I am a regular contributor to Hungarian magazines, newspapers and journals, and also give presentations and master classes, both in Hungary and internationally. I ran the TV2 ‘Borkultusz’ programme’s wine and gastronomy section, and have appeared several times on TV Paprika. I was the Managing Director of the Eger Gróf Buttler Winery for nearly two years and now work as a consultant for various winemakers. In addition to my consultancy activities, I am the Technical Director for further education courses specialising in wine tourism consultancy at the Budapest Metropolitan University of Applied Sciences. In 2015, I set up my own wine school, the Herczeg Ágnes Wine School. Its main objective is to function as a knowledge centre on a diverse, international level, which both everyday wine lovers and trade professionals are happy to attend.
