If you have €10,000 to spare, you could join the likes of the Queen and the Pope and buy a 250ml bottle of wine produced from the world’s oldest vine. This vine, growing on the wall of house in Maribor, Slovenia’s second city on the banks of the Drava, has been producing wine again since 1981. The wine produced from grapes of vines of around 400 years old is being auctioned by the Old Vine Museum.
Can you spare €10,000?
This year for the first time, a 250 millilitre bottle of wine made from the vine’s grapes is coming up for auction.
