Arlberg in the Austrian Alps is best known for being the cradle of alpine skiing. But what makes it truly unique is the quality of its offerings off the slopes. This alpine playground’s array of award-winning restaurants and stunning cellars makes it the perfect location to host the 10-day annual ‘Arlberg Weinberg’ event series in December.
The centrepiece of this event is the Arlberg Weinberg symposium from 9 to 11 December 2024, where international journalists, legendary winemakers and viticultural experts from around the globe gather in Lech to explore the latest trends, taste carefully curated Austrian and international wines, forge new contacts and revive old friendships.
This year’s themes are more topical than ever, with an all-star line-up of speakers, including three Masters of Wine, examining whether terroir and natural wines are diverging, the role of water in the vineyards amid a changing climate and the wonders of Austrian Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
Tickets for all the Arlberg Weinberg events (5 to 15 December) and for the symposium (9 to 11 December) can be booked online at Lech Zürs Tourism. Only a few places are available for some tastings. Arlberg Weinberg is an initiative of Lech Zürs Tourism and is organised with the support of the Austrian Wine Marketing Board.
