The Tokaj Renaissance Association has opened a wine shop in the recently renovated building of the Tokaj Museum, almost opposite the Tokaj Coffee House. The brief, informal opening ceremony on 10th May saw some glasses of Furmint clinking and a few spontaneous words spoken by mayor of Tokaj town György Posta and László Kalocsai, Dereszla estate manager and president of the Association. When the shop is fully stocked up, fifty-four different wines, three from each of the eighteen members of Tokaj Renaissance will be available for purchase by the bottle and some even for tasting by the glass in the shop or on the terrace just outside. Opening hours are initially from 10 am to 6 pm every day, subject to later change depending on actual demand.

Founded in 1995, Tokaj Renaissance is the oldest winegrowers' organisation in the Tokaj region, their primary goals being to promote Tokaji wines both in Hungary and abroad, and to safeguard Tokaj traditions. The current membership includes Alana-Tokaj, Barta, Béres, Bodvin, Budaházy-Fekete Kúria, Dereszla, Disznókő, Dobogó, Erzsébet Cellar, Füleky, Gróf Degenfeld, Patricius, Royal Tokaji, Samuel Tinon, Sauska, Tokaj Classic, Tokaj Nobilis and Tokaj Portius.
